Description

An 18th-century church in the Castelo district, built where a 12th-century temple once stood, right beside the entrance to São Jorge Castle. Kids can climb the roughly 50 steps of the rebuilt bell tower for one of the best panoramic viewpoints over old Lisbon's rooftops and the Tagus, and browse a small exhibition inside the church. Entry tickets typically include a drink at the top — hot chocolate, juice or a soft drink for children. A short, easy visit that pairs well with a morning at the neighbouring castle (castle entry is separate).
