Avenidas Novas has a new space dedicated to fun for little ones. KidsPlay recently opened its doors in this central Lisbon neighbourhood, bringing a modern indoor playground concept that combines free play with structured activities.
We went to check out the space to tell KidsToGo parents all about it.
The Space
Spanning over 400 square metres, KidsPlay occupies a bright, spacious venue that impresses from the entrance. The modern design — with vibrant yet harmonious colours — moves away from traditional indoor playgrounds and creates an environment where both children and parents feel comfortable.
The space is divided into several zones, each designed for different ages and interests:
Adventure Zone (4-12 years)
The main attraction: a multi-level play structure featuring:
- Slides of different heights and speeds
- Ball pit with thousands of colourful balls
- Obstacle course with suspended bridges
- Tunnels and secret passages
- Climbing wall adapted for children
Baby Zone (0-3 years)
A separate, protected space for the youngest visitors:
- Cushioned flooring throughout the area
- Mini slide and gentle ramp
- Sensory and stacking toys
- Crawling area with visual and tactile stimuli
- Completely separated from the older children's zone for maximum safety
Creative Zone
An area dedicated to calmer activities:
- Drawing and painting table
- Reading corner with children's books
- Building games (LEGO, magnetic blocks)
- Dress-up and make-believe area
Party Zone
Private rooms decorated for birthday parties:
- Capacity for 15-25 children per room
- Themed decoration available
- Snack and cake table
- Playground access included

Location and Access
KidsPlay is located in the heart of Avenidas Novas, one of Lisbon's most central and well-connected areas.
How to get there:
- Metro: A few minutes' walk from Saldanha or Campo Pequeno stations (yellow and red lines)
- Bus: Several routes pass through the area, including lines 736, 744, and 783
- Car: Parking available in nearby underground car parks (Campo Pequeno, Saldanha Residence)
Accessibility: The space is wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with street-level access.
Safety and Hygiene Measures
Safety is a clear priority at KidsPlay:
- Non-slip socks required for all children (available for purchase on-site, 2 EUR)
- Age separation — the baby zone is completely independent from the adventure zone
- Monitor team present in all areas during opening hours
- Continuous cleaning — regular sanitisation protocol throughout the day
- Wristband system — children and accompanying adults receive matching wristbands for entry and exit control
- First aid — staff trained in paediatric first aid always present
