Fado in Chiado is an intimate 50-minute live fado show in the heart of Lisbon's Chiado district, on stage for over 15 years at the historic Cine-Theatro Gymnasio (Espaco Chiado). Singers accompanied by Portuguese guitar and classical guitar give the whole family a real introduction to Portugal's most famous musical tradition. The short format and early sessions (Mon-Sat at 5:30pm and 7pm) keep it manageable for children, and kids aged 4-6 enter free with an adult. The audience is expected to stay quiet throughout, so it suits calmer, school-age kids and teens best.
