Porto Cathedral (Sé do Porto)
Porto Cathedral (Sé do Porto) is a 12th-century fortress-like cathedral towering over the old town, and one of the city's oldest monuments. Kids can explore the Gothic cloisters lined with blue-and-white azulejo tiles, peek into the treasury museum, and climb the tower for sweeping views over the rooftops and the Douro River. The wide Terreiro da Sé square outside is a great spot for a run-around and photos before or after the visit. Best for school-age children and up — the tower climb involves stairs, so it is not stroller-friendly inside.
